This selective medium is recommended for the isolation of yeasts and molds on surfaces. The presence of chloramphenicol allows a good inhibition of a large part of bacterial contaminants.
MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTROL
The following results were obtained from type cultures after incubation at a temperature of 30 ± 2ºC and observed after 40-72 hours.
Candida albicans ATCC 2091 ........................ Good growth
Candida tropicalis ATCC 750 ......................... Good growth
Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 ......................... Inhibited growth
Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 ............... Inhibited growth
